The Polar Pointer is comprised of two laser modules in a rugged microphone shapped aluminium housing. The lasers indicate the maximum rejection zones for hyper cardoid and super cardoid microphones. Where the lasers point is the ideal position for placing wedges.
Activate the internal lasers by twisting the laser head clockwise. Put the Polar Pointer in the mic clip. When trying to find the rejection zone for a hyper cardoid microphone use your hand to cover the laser of the super cardoid and vice versa. The remaining laser will point to the ideal position for you wedges. Changing the angle of your microphone will change the ideal position of the wedges.
